TRIO Opening night
Three artist at Artformz: Show Dates: April 11 – May 5, 2009
Anja Marais, Alette Simmons-Jimenez, Chieko Tanemura

I am right now in an exhibition at Sculpture Key West and they were kind enough to loan me my Sculpture/Installation “False Security”for the opening night of TRIO in the Wynwood district, Miami. This is the plus of having art on wheels.

The evening was a steady stream of all walks of life. There was young, old, great parents that brought their kids along. I heard Swedish, French, German amongst the usual crowd. The Miami art scene is truly a diverse group, which I love.

I had four works on display, the first was my installation outside “False Security”. Inside I had three paper sculptures. All these work are hand stitched paper. The titles are
Pusillanimous (I) 12’ x 22″ x 12″

Pusillanimous (II) 10’ x 6.5” x 9”
Lacking courage; timid. [From Latin pusillus (weak, very small), diminutive of pullus (young of an animal) + animus (spirit, mind).

Time scatters on six legs. 5.5’ x 5’ x 6’
This sculpture is sewn with paper from my day planner pages of 2004 and Chinese Almanac pages.
